North Huntsville Community United for Action Sponsored Celebrating Education Back to School Parade
The 2022 Back to School Parade was again sponsored by the North Huntsville Community
United for Action Organization (NHCUA). The purpose of this event is to highlight the
importance of education and to bring together parents, teachers, students and most importantly
the community for fellowship, food, fun and games. Different organizations and businesses were
able to showcase their talents and goods.
Marshalls for the parade were Gwendolyn Humphrey, Cynthia Jordan Clopton and Rashad
Moore, all former students of J. O. Johnson High School who excelled in their perspective sports
field. The highlight of the parade was the Alabama A&M Marching Maroon and White Band,
the President Dr. Daniel Wims and Head Football Coach Connell Maynor. This was the first
time the AAMU Band has participated in the parade and was cheered generously by the viewers.
The parade route began at 3700 Blue Springs Road (Dollar General Market parking lot) and
concluded at Mae Jemison High School, located at 5000 Pulaski Pike NW, Huntsville, AL
35810. A festival followed on the Jemison High School football field.
